I write this latest update on federal developments related to higher education as we turn toward the final stretch of the academic year.

I have been made aware of a flyer being distributed on campus that suggests the College will expose student identities in its response to the recent Congressional inquiry we received.

I write to share with you that this past Thursday afternoon, the College received a letter jointly signed by the chairs of the U.S. House Committee on Education and Workforce and its Subcommittee on Higher Education and Workforce Development.

As I write with my latest update on developments in Washington related to higher education, I do so with hopes that you are doing okay in the aftermath of last night’s scary developments. 

I write to update you on the latest developments from Washington, D.C. that are impacting our College community. In doing so, I first want to reaffirm without equivocation Pomona’s enduring mission of providing quality education to talented students.

​​​​​I am pleased to share the following update on how Pomona students, faculty, staff, and alumni are making an impact on campus and beyond.

In uncertain times, I have often found grounding in being a part of the Pomona College family. I reach out today to provide an update on the College’s planning and monitoring regarding current Executive Orders and proposed federal policies.

This week our campus once again reverberates with the sights and sounds of a lively academic community as spring semester begins.

As we approach the start of the spring semester and the return of students to campus, we continue to monitor the wildfires in the Los Angeles area and are in touch with those impacted by the fires, especially our own Pomona College community.

I wanted to reach out immediately to express my care for our community given the devastation Southern California is experiencing due to fires and fierce winds in the last two days.
