This week in Pomona-Pitzer Athletics saw the Women's Water Polo team win four of five behind some dominant defensive performances, while the Baseball team won a SCIAC weekend for the fourth time in five tries by taking two of three from Chapman.

Women's Water Polo had a busy week with five matches, including its SCIAC opener, and allowed only 24 goals (4.8 per contest). Sarah Tuggy '13 had 13 saves and allowed only one goal to start the week in a win over Connecticut College, and followed that up with 12 saves and only two goals allowed in a 6-2 win over La Verne. That victory started the Sagehens off with a 1-0 record in league play after a 10-0 SCIAC season last spring.

Katy Schafer PI '16 had a big week offensively with 13 goals, while Brenda Iglesias '14 capped off the week with a hat trick in a 15-3 win over Washington & Jefferson.

Baseball met Chapman in a three-game weekend series for the first time as SCIAC rivals and took two of three. Jake Bruml '15 started off the weekend with a complete game with no earned runs in an 8-2 win at Chapman, while Simon Rosenbaum '16 hit a three-run homer.

The two players reversed roles in the rubber game in the series finale, as Rosenbaum went seven innings to get the win to improve to 5-0 on the year, while Bruml had the go-ahead RBI single in the seventh, his second RBI of the game. Mike Moyer '13 added an RBI single in the eighth for his second RBI to stretch the lead to 4-2 and Robert Weller '14 closed out for his fifth save of the year. Pomona-Pitzer also started the week with a 16-11 win over Ithaca in a non-league game as Travis Bowers '14 keyed a seven-run fifth inning with a three-run double.

Women's Tennis had three matches in three days against ranked opponents and finally suffered its first loss after a 7-0 start. The Sagehens defeated No. 12 Washington (Mo.) on Wednesday and No. 30 Case Western on Thursday, before falling to No. 10 Bowdoin on Friday. Mae Coyiuto '16 remained unbeaten on the year in singles (8-0) by winning in all three matches, including 6-2, 6-1 against Bowdoin for the only singles point for the Sagehens.

Men's Tennis also had a busy week and went 2-2, defeating Rochester on Wednesday and Skidmore on Saturday, while falling to Bowdoin and Swarthmore on Friday. The Sagehens were dominant in doubles, with the No. 3 team of Connor Hudson '15 and Connor Sutton '15 winning all four, including an 8-0 win over No. 5 Bowdoin. Max Sabel PI '13 and Frankie Allinson '13 were also 4-0 in doubles, with an 8-1 win over Bowdoin.

Softball had a home doubleheader on Saturday against Cal Lutheran and played a pair of one-run games, winning the opener 4-3 and falling in the nightcap 3-2. Meagan Tokunaga '15 was 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI in the opener, while Leah Bleichner '15 finished off the game with a double play in center field, one of her three outfield assists on the day.

Women's Golf competed on Thursday and Friday at the Augustana Spring Fling in Palm Desert and finished seventh, one shot ahead of SCIAC rival Whittier. Tiffany Gu '16 had a terrific round in the opener, shooting a 76, which was tied for second after the first day three shots off the lead. She finished with a two-day 156, placing her 10th overall.
