Study by Professor Tahir Andrabi Cited by Associated Press Article

A study by Professor of Economics Tahir Andrabi was mentioned in an Associated Press article, "U.S. steps up push for aid recognition in Pakistan," on July 21. The article examines a recent push by the U.S. government to have American aid groups working in Pakistan advertise that the assistance is U.S. based--to counter anti-American sentiment in the area--but some NGOs are reluctant to do so, since it could be dangerous in areas with Taliban and al-Qaida fighters. Andrabi's study is mentioned, as it shows the "influx of foreign aid after the 2005 Kashmir earthquake significantly increased survivors' trust in the West."
