Professor Kathleen Fitzpatrick Featured in "New York Times" Article on Alternatives to Peer Review
The work of Professor of Media Studies Kathleen Fitzpatrick is featured in the New York Times article, "Scholars Test Web Alternative to Peer Review." Fitzpatrick is a co-founder of MediaCommons, a community-driven network that aims to broaden the circulation of scholarly discourse, leading to new processes and forms of digital scholarship. The site recently assisted Shakespeare Quarterly in an experiment that mixed peer review with the openness of the web. The journal posted four essays not yet selected for publication with comments from a core group of experts and other MediaCommons members could add their thoughts as well.
