The Mountain Goats Perform at Pomona College; Video Now Available to Watch Online

Last summer, John Darnielle of the Mountain Goats returned to Claremont to film an intimate video performance of his latest album, "The Life of the World to Come," at Pomona College's Lyman Hall. In the video, which is directed by Rian Johnson (Brick, The Brothers Bloom), he says Lyman Hall was the first place he publicly played piano at the age of eight. Darnielle, who started The Mountain Goats while a student at Pitzer, also gives a nice shout-out to KSPC, saying "I don't think I would know anything about good music if KSPC hadn't been here when I was a kid."

Sasha Frere-Jones of The New Yorker called Darnielle "America’s best non-hip-hop lyricist" and Paste magazine named him one of the "100 Best Living Songwriters." You can watch the video performance of "The Life of the World to Come" free all this week on Pitchfork.com.
