Each year, the Alumni Association of Pomona College awards alumni who have shown exceptional merit in their professions, as community service leaders, and as volunteers for Pomona College. This year, we are proud to announce the following alumni award recipients:
The Blaisdell Distinguished Alumni Award
The Blaisdell Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes alumni whose contributions and achievements in their profession or community mark them as distinguished persons even among the distinguished body of Pomona alumni.
R. Stanton Hales '64 is the former president of Wooster College and a national badminton champion. Read his profile
Tracy Westen '62 and Robert Stern '66 work together at the Center for Governmental Studies, an organization Westen founded to create innovative political and media solutions to help individuals participate more effectively in their communities and governments. Read their profile
The Alumni Distinguished Service Award
The Alumni Distinguished Service Award pays tribute to an alumnus or alumna in recognition of that person's selfless commitment and ongoing volunteer service to Pomona College.
Since the 1970s, Peter and Sandy Briggs '64 have lent a hand to Pomona countless times, serving on the Alumni Board , the Torchbearer Board, as Admissions volunteers, and as reunion chairs. Read their profile
The Inspirational Young Alumni Award
The Inspirational Young Alumni Award honors a young alumnus or alumna (graduate of the last decade) in recognition of their dedication, perseverance, and consistency in following the inscription on the College Gates: "They only are loyal to this college who departing bear their added riches in trust for mankind."
