Contemporary Chamber Group EnsembleGREEN to Perform at Pomona College
Members from Southern California’s contemporary chamber music group, EnsembleGREEN, will perform on Sunday, November 1 at 7 p.m., in Pomona College’s Bridges Hall of Music. The concert is free and open to the public.
EnsembleGREEN intertwines their performances with seminal 20th- century composers and innovative works of living West Coast composers. According to the Los Angeles Times, EnsembleGREEN is, “Well-equipped to fight the good fight, championing 20th-century music in a mobile music setting.”
This concert will feature two works by Pomona College music faculty: Tom Flaherty’s Moments of Inertia (2003) for flute, viola and cello; and Eric Lindholm’s String Trio (2009) for EnsembleGREEN, Other works on the program are Alec Wilder’s Suite for oboe, clarinet and bassoon and Miklos Rosza’s Sonata for Solo Oboe Op. 43 (1987).
