PBI President and Professor of Anthropology Dru Gladney Called Upon by Media to Discuss Recent Unrest in Xinjiang, China

PBI President and Professor of Anthropology Dru Gladney is often called upon to comment on and write about the violent protests and unrest in Xinjiang, an autonomous region in western China. In the past few weeks, Gladney has written articles on the cultural background of the strife between the Turkic-speaking Muslim Uighurs and the Han population in Xinjiang in publications like BBC News ("China's Ethnic Tinderbox"); The Wall Street Journal ("China's Ethnic Fault Lines"), and YaleGlobal Online ("An Ethnic Struggle in China Goes Global").
