The RideShare program is available to Pomona College
employees who carpool to come to work. A “carpool” is
defined as “a vehicle occupied by two to six people
traveling together between their residences and their
worksites for the majority of the total trip distance.
Carpoolers who work for different employers, as well as
non-employed people (e.g., children), are included within
this definition as long as they are in the vehicle for the
majority (51%) of the total trip distance. The Rideshare
program also recognizes employees who bike/walk, take the
bus/train to come to work or do just about anything other
than drive to work solo.

Write the date(s) in the applicable section, check off what
alternative form of transportation you used, print your name
(legibly), sign and date it. Turn in your form(s) to the HR
Office at the end of every month. If you forget to fill one
out but still want to get credit for it, please remember
that we can only go back one month; for example, it’s
December 30 and you forgot to turn in November and October;
we can only accept November. (Alternatively, you can save
the attached interactive RideShare slip to your desktop and
use it every month.
The slips are then tallied the first week after the month
has ended and you should see the incentive in your next
paycheck. The incentive is now $2.00 each day you use an
alternative form of transportation. In addition, Pomona
College pays up to $100 of your public transit costs if you
take the Metrolink or the bus. The HR Office will purchase
the Metrolink tickets for you but you should purchase your
bus tickets and submit the receipt(s) for reimbursement.
