Emergency Preparedness Plan

1. Ask the caller questions: Where? When? What does it look like?
2. Write everything said and listen for background noise, voice characteristics, etc.
3. Report threat immediately to Campus Security at 72000.
4. Evacuate 100 yards from the area threatened.

Earthquake

1. Take cover under a desk or table, protect your body especially your head and neck.
2. Stay away from windows and objects that may fall.
3. Do not run outside.
4. If outdoors stay in an open area.
5. After shaking stops, evacuate to your designated evacuation area.

Evacuation in case of Fire or Hazardous Materials Spill

1. Calmly notify people in your area of the need to evacuate (use fire alarms if possible)
2. Evacuate the area of the fire or spill.
3. Do not use elevators.
4. Check the evacuation area to ensure that it is safe.
5. Call 72000 and report the emergency: location of fire and/or spill, and if appropriate time name of material released.

Lockdown

1. Immediately go to the closest safe room (identified by the logo above) or other lockable location.
2. Sit on the floor
3. Await contact by safety officials.

Medical

1. Dial 72000 and report the nature of the illness or injury and the location.
2. Provide assistance as appropriate.
