Preparing for Commencement
Graduation Information Form
The Graduation Information Form (GIF) is used to confirm graduate majors and to capture preferred diploma name, pronunciation and hometown. This form is required regardless of whether or not you plan to attend Commencement.
Graduates may access the form through the my.pomona.edu student portal and may submit their information through Friday, February 20. Please contact the Office of the Registrar if you have challenges completing the form.
- Click on the Graduating Seniors link, review the instructions, and fill out the form accordingly.
- Once you submit the form, you will be redirected to the Record Your Name screen.
- The redirection may take several seconds. Do not hit resubmit or refresh the screen while you are waiting to be redirected.
- The Record Your Name screen allows you to create a recording of your name for the Dean of the College, who will read your name at Commencement. Say your name three times in a row, slowly and clearly. You can record your name on your computer or upload an MP3.
Caps and Gowns
Caps and gowns are provided to graduates free of charge by the College, but must be ordered by the graduate directly.
Place your cap and gown order by Friday, March 20.
Regalia will be delivered directly to Pomona College and will be distributed to graduates in May (exact date TBD).
Graduation Accessories
Some graduates purchase accessories to celebrate this significant achievement, including diploma frames, announcements, class rings and thank you notes. The cap and gown order form offers packages that include diploma frames, announcements and thank you notes from Herff Jones (at the graduate's cost).
Jostens also offers a range of products for purchase, including customizable graduation announcements, class rings and affiliation accessories to wear on Commencement day.
