The Dean's Office has a small fund for bringing guest speakers to
campus. Please note that there are other sources of funding for
campus events (e.g., the Public Events committee, ASPC, many departmental
budgets). The requests to the Dean's Office should be addressed to
Associate Dean Katherine Hagedorn include a detailed
budget, and itemize other sources of support. The usual range of
awards is $250-$500. A proposal to the Supplemental Lecture
Fund will get preference if the proposed speaker:
- directly enhances an existing course, or
- is for a department or program with a very small budget, and if
- the proposal can show real support from academic departments and
programs.
