What can you and your office do to reduce your environmental impacts? What are other offices doing?
The Green Office Program is designed to help offices implement sustainable practices into their workplaces. By making a few simple changes, offices can reduce their environmental footprint, help the College save money, meet the administration's sustainability goals and commitments, and respond to the overwhelming interest of students, faculty, staff, trustees and the surrounding community in sustainability. After completing actions suggested by the program, offices are assessed and receive one of four certifications levels. Certified offices can display their certification and will be recognized in campus publications.

Process
- Acquaint yourself with the program by looking through this web page and the calculator, which will be available for download here.
- Email sustainability@pomona.edu if you're interested in entering your office/department into the program.
- Your liaison from the Sustainability Integration Office will be in touch with you to complete an initial office visit and conduct an audit of your appliances, light switches, sinks, etc. to see how many materials you need.
- You will receive a Green Pack (including mirror films, recycling bin stickers, light switch stickers, trash signs, sustainability tour and purchasing guide) from the SIO.
- Fill out the calculator with your office's current efforts. Explanations for prerequisites and credits are listed on the calculator, and your liaison is available for any assistance you may need.
- Email your completed calculator to the SIO.
- The SIO will issue your certification within the next two weeks and your liaison will stop by within one month to check up on you and answer any questions.
- Congrats! Your office is now certified for one year! The SIO will give you images and information to use on your website, lounge, main office, and bulletin boards.
- At any time you may add certifications to apply for a higher level of certification.
- The SIO will contact you when it is time to re-certify.
