Application Process for International Applicants

Each year, Pomona College provides financial aid to a limited number of first-year international students. Pomona College does not offer financial assistance to international transfer students.  For international first-year students admitted to the College with eligibility for financial aid, the College meets 100 percent of demonstrated financial need, which is determined by the College and based on the family's financial circumstances. The College provides only need based aid; no merit or performance scholarships are available.

It is important to note that the Admissions Committee takes financial need into consideration for applicants who are not U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents. Once an international student submits the regular Admissions application to Pomona, his or her financial aid status may not be changed. Since financial aid for international students is limited, competition is intense.

Renewing Aid: Applying as a Returning Student in Future Years

Financial aid is awarded on an annual basis and no award is automatically renewed.  However, aid recipients can be reasonably assured of continuing financial support for their four undergraduate years at Pomona College, provided students continue to demonstrate the same level of financial need, make satisfactory academic progress, and are in good standing with the College.  Students who receive aid from a private agency or foundation are responsible for completing any renewal documents the agency or foundation may require.

One of the following applications must be submitted annually to reapply for financial aid:
