Welcome from the Orientation Committee!
The Pomona College Orientation Committee extends warmest greetings to each of you. As the student group that will staff most of the events during Orientation, we understand that you may not know anyone here yet, so we will do our best to help you become comfortable with the people of Pomona College. We hope that you’ll soon feel right at home in Claremont. The first few weeks, though busy and tiring, are a lot of fun. We encourage you to make the most of the many activities planned for you during Orientation. Here are some of the things you can expect:
- Lunch with your Faculty Adviser.
- Dinner at the home of President and Mrs. Oxtoby.
- Sponsor group activities and challenges.
- A faculty lecture on the summer reading
- A discussion with faculty on the summer reading.
The College will hold a family/parents orientation program on Sunday, August 25, 2013. There will be informal tours of the campus before lunch and a more formal program in the afternoon, including a series of panel discussions with representatives of the College and a reception with President and Mrs. Oxtoby. This is an opportunity for your family/parents to learn something about the College and to see where you will be spending your time for the next four years.
Please note that Family Weekend 2014 is Friday, February 14, through Sunday, February 16, 2013.
