changes lives |

More than any other type of gift, bequests from our generous
supporters have allowed Pomona to reach its unique place
among liberal arts colleges.
We hope that our friends will consider including Pomona in
their estate plans so that the College may carry on its
tradition of academic excellence, world-class facilities and
accessibility to all income levels.
We have provided forms with sample language for several
types of bequests. Please review your plans with legal
counsel and adapt the forms to conform to your wishes.

| Granite and
Sagebrush |

 Granite and Sagebrush, the Bequest Society of Pomona
College, was created to recognize individuals and families
who will make gifts to the College through their
estates. The Society has more than 300 members.
Granite and Sagebrush acknowledges those whose foresight and
generosity will allow future generations to benefit from a
Pomona education.
The name of this honorary society is taken from the title of
the history of Pomona College written in 1944 by Professor
Frank Brackett, an astronomer and one of the founding
faculty members of the College. In his history, Professor
Brackett noted, “Here are the foundations of granite amid
the wilds of sagebrush – Granite and Sagebrush.”
To join Granite and Sagebrush, simply send us an e-mail
letting us know that Pomona has been included in your estate
plan.
We want to accurately understand your philanthropic
intention for the College and ensure that it is implemented
successfully. To this end, we would appreciate receiving
copies of the relevant pages from your estate planning
documents. The specific information that you provide will
remain confidential.
