Photo Gallery: Family Weekend 2012

On the weekend of February 17-19, 2012, Pomona College hosted 250 families and more than 450 family members for an activity-filled weekend. Parents could sit in on classes, attend performances, or see lectures and screenings. Some of the highlights included:

  • Friday morning class sessions
  • Pomona Family College Sessions on sustainability, internships, life on campus, "dangerous minds," and study abroad
  • A reception with Pomona College President David Oxtoby and his wife Claire
  • "Ask the Deans" with Dean Miriam Feldblum and the deans and directors in Student Affairs
  • "An Academic Perspective on the Pomona College Experience" with Dean of the College Cecilia Conrad
  • Pomona College Organic Farm tours
  • White Wash Documentary film screening with producer and historian Alison Jefferson '80
  • Athletic events
  • The It Happened at Pomona: Art at the Edge of Los Angeles, 1969-1973 Museum show
  • "Pomona’s Got Talent" where students showcased their talents in the performing arts
  • 10-Minute Play Festival featuring plays written, produced and performed by members of the College community
  • "Achachis y Bordados": Storytelling Embroideries From Chijnaya Peru, an exhibition organized by Professor of Anthropology Ralph Bolton
