Emergency Update

There is currently no emergency facing the Pomona College campus, but in the event of an emergency, this space will be used to provide timely information for students, parents, faculty, staff, and other members of the College family. It will be updated regularly as new information becomes available. If the Pomona College Web is temporarily disabled due to an emergency, emergency information should still be accessible through our mirror site, at www.pomonaemergency.info. Emergencies, disasters and accidents can happen at anytime. Pomona College is prepared to respond to emergencies 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.    If a major emergency such as an earthquake, hazardous materials accident or shooting occurs, the Executive Staff and the Emergency Response Team will direct the College’s emergency response. Specially trained response and support teams will be activated.

At all times, the College’s highest priority is the safety and well being of students, faculty and staff.

In the event of an emergency, regular updates will be posted our on-campus Emergency Web. If the Pomona web is temporarily unavailable, information should still be accessible through our mirror website - http://www.pomonaemergency.info. Community Emergency Response Team Training: For more information or to register, contact Neil Gerard at ext. 77381 or Neil Gerard. The course will be taught by Los Angeles County Fire personnel and will teach you how to be prepared in a natural or man-made disaster. The course includes training in triage, disaster medical aid, light search and rescue, communication and fire suppression. Those who complete the course will be better prepared at their homes and in their neighborhoods in the event of a disaster. Following the course, participants can join Pomona's Emergency Response program or be satisfied with the knowledge that they will be better prepared to help at home and assist their neighbors. This course will run 10 Mondays, skipping the Monday of Spring Break.
